My grandfather (deceased) was a WW2 vet. My grandmother has a box of odd things he brought back from the war. I went through it once when she felt like letting me see the things. Among the, um, "mementos?" were a photo of a Nazi in uniform and a little pewter pin with the Nazi logo on it in German (and I have forgotten what it was) and an image of guys in helmets. Also postcards from his European girlfriends! (:P) He went to war before they got married.
