Cathedral Fire-Bombed

My latest on Taki. Above is the headline I would have preferred, but you can't always get what you want, and I am happy to be published at all. I have submitted the final revision of the 9/11 story, and I will be glad to have other things to think about. Would be glad, I suppose. I will be happy when it is Wednesday. There is something about the date and the day of the week lining up again that makes this year sadder.

I am very tired now. Must eat something and try to sleep.

A perhaps related personal note: About 12 years ago, while I still lived in NYC, I became interested in Catholicism (I was raised a Baptist but had long lapsed from that; I think reading Chesteron’s Orthodoxy led me to look into older forms) and for a spell even attended Mass at St. Patrick’s. I even went so far as to attend some of their introductory classes on the religion, but found these to be basically designed for people who were obliged to convert for purposes of marriage. As someone who was simply trying to find out about the religion for religious reasons, I felt quite without guidance and I soon dropped the matter entirely.
