Beatus Marmion

There are some old books you are always glad to find a secondhand copy of so you can pass it on. For me Abbot Marmion's Christ, the Life of the Soul was one of them. Don't let the title mislead you; it's not one of those aweful pious books, but a classic of what I can only call common sense mysticism. I was hoping that his beatification six years back would inspire some reprinting. Indeed, it has even inspired a new translation, one that wasn't strictly necessary, except for people intimidated by Bible quotations in Latin, though you can easily figure most of them out. I haven't seen it yet, but I don't hesitate to pass the word on to you, whether you are Catholic or Protestant, Western or Eastern, Christian or Pagan. Have I misled you before? Probably. But not this time.
