Teaching second graduate class tonight. I don't suppose they will have books even now. To save myself from talking for four hours I sent them a link to
A Student's Guide to Liberal Learning (
.pdf) by James Schall, which you might find of interest as well.
The hospital job starts again on Sunday. This time my request for the night shift has been approved. Less to do, less supervision, less sleep deprivation the night after I teach, and a little more money. And it's only two weeks. Unless the company sets up more hospitals to train, which will take weeks or months if it does happen.
I have one more chapter to finish on my writing project and another to add some elaboration to. My editor may well be taking on something bigger himself, and says he wants to speak to me some time after June 1. Meanwhile I am, among other things, researching how to build an online community pretty much from scratch. There is a good bit of anxiety attached to this whole situation, I assure you.
That, and I am getting my medical issues attended to. The dental people want clearance that my blood sugar is under control before they approve implants, and my GP had me go to the ophthalmologist yesterday to check the blood vessels on the retina. These were fine, the cataracts have not gotten worse, in fact I can see a little better out of the left eye than a year and a hslf ago, and the floater in my right eye, though a big one, is positioned nicely over the blind spot. Full physical is scheduled for a week from Friday, and the next dental appointment for the week after that.
