I saw my wife climb a tree once, though she wasn't my wife then. My favorite uncle used to call her the A-rab, because she's from India. She was a bit insulted until I explained that his nickname for himself was The Old Fart.
He had his share of ethnic lore. Used to recite this little poem:
The Irish don't amount to much But they're a damn sight better than the Dutch.
Meaning Germans, I assume. Of course he was half Irish himself.
