Why doesn’t Kerry change his position, even if it would likely win him the White House?

My guess is that Kerry has no interest in winning on a pro-peace platform, simply because it would diminish his mandate to make war once elected.

It's things like these which really make the up and coming election so hard. For me, the last election was a grueling deciscion, the California Gubernatorial Election was a joke, and this one will probably be just as grueling of a choice. It's so hard to make the right choice when one does not like either major candidate.

If I thought any of the third parties had a chance in hell, I would vote the third in a blink.
