Oxford, England, UK -- In a move that has bummed Orthodox converts all over the English-speaking world, researchers at Oxford University have conclusively proved that famed author and philologist C(live) S(taples) Lewis was, in fact, Anglican and not Orthodox, in spite of the fact that his closest friends called him "Jack."
"I know all the so-called evidence, so there is no need to try to argue with me," said Christ Church researcher Crispian Salty PhD in an impeccable upper-lower-middle-educated-class accent. "We've been studying this question since 1963, and have conclusively proved that Professor Lewis was, in fact, Anglican."
"But his books are so Orthodox! He clearly read the Greek Fathers quite extensively! In The Silver Chair, they kneel and kiss the icon of Aslan! His soteriology is plainly eirenic and not legalistic!" complained Fr. Basil Stepchurch, pastor of tiny All Pre-Schism Saints of Oxbridge Orthodox Church here in Oxford.
