That is fun history. :) I went to the French Quarter once, and would really like to go again with my husband. I can't imagine that anyother place int he world has a similar history -- what an unusual place.

It will be a response to Oakeshott's wonderful essay On the Voice of Poetry in the Conversation of Mankind (in the expanded edition of Rationalism in Politics) from the point of view of someone who may not be a Poet, but has written verse on occasion.
