I'm anti-censorship in principle, but yeah, I can see your point, especially regarding Lord Of The Flies.

I've recently watched a DVD of the film version of Golding's book. (Which, from what I understand, was very faithful in its adaptation.) In the commentary, the Director noted that it was given the Brit equivalent of an "R", meaning, of course, that about 99.5 - 99.9% of the cast couldn't see it without the necessary Adult supervision. Somewhat out of curiosity, he screened it for the cast themselves and asked them if they thought that children should be allowed to see this movie.

To a boy, they all agreed -- Children should not be allowed to see the movie...;-)
