WFB Throws In the Towel

Our mission has failed because Iraqi animosities have proved uncontainable by an invading army of 130,000 Americans. The great human reserves that call for civil life haven't proved strong enough. No doubt they are latently there, but they have not been able to contend against the ice men who move about in the shadows with bombs and grenades and pistols. (Thanks to nebris for the heads-up.)

The animosities of Iraq were kept well under control by Mr. Hussein. As vile as his regime was, his people were better off under it, and so were we, and so was the world. But he was an enemy of Israel. He had to be destroyed. And his country along with him, nay, the entire region. At whatever cost to America and to the world. And to Israel? What an irony if the Jewish state should be wiped off the map as a result of the actions of American Zionists and their unspeakable associates.
