Bronx and Queens
Mar. 11th, 2005 04:52 pm"The Queen is descended from the marriage of Edmund of Langley, the fifth son of King Edward III, to Isabel of Castile in 1372. She was the daughter of Pedro the Cruel; Pedro the Cruel was descended from the Prophet."
She is also some kind of cousin of the General from the Bronx. Which figures.
Presumably the Blessed Emperor Charles was descended from Pedro the Cruel through the Spanish Royal family.
Can someone confirm this?
My own Royal descent, if any, is through the Plantagenets, who did not, as far as I know, carry the blood of the Prophet (P.B.U.H.). On my father's side, that is. The other is anybody's guess.
CT scan this afternoon. Technician confirmed that I have stones -- carrots, he called them -- in the left kidney. I remarked that it is the right side that hurts. Oh, yeah, there, too, he said. Carrots? What's up, Doc? Will find out Tuesday, go back to the gout lady Thursday, St. Patrick's day.
Which reminds me of a story. But you probably know it already.
