The little girl, if one may so speak of a Hunter College senior, has gone off to tutor, and asked me to lock the door behind her. On my way back in I encountered in the hallway a bag of stuff I was permitted to leave the office with the day I was outsourced, about five books, which are still there, and six CDs, which are in front of me, the Shostakovich 8th (Haitink), which I had been looking for in an disorganized sort of way, two by Faruk Tekbilek, Havergal Brian''s 3rd, which I'm not sure how I feel about, the Goldberg Variations played on a pair of eight stringed guitars, and some traditional marches performed by the Luftwaffenmusikkorps. Feel free to comment if you like.
