Wise Words

From a woman I foolishly dismissed without reading carefully enough:

“Whatever you do, don’t misuse what you believe so that it gets in the way of the truth. That’s so easy to do, especially when so much around us encourages us to.” - Susan Sontag

I didn't see her piece on the World Trade Center. Frankly, I was too numb to notice such things at the time, and it wouldn't have helped me much to realize that others were thinking the thoughts that started to come to me on my long walk home.

I guess her own long walk home is over, and she is discussing her differences with Professor Davenport. Spiritedly.

Again, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] supergee for noticing this; I don't read the NCR, even on line. Or the similarly acronymed Register, either.
