My ten credit teaching assignment in what I shall choose to call Mott Haven Community College is coming to an end. It was a hundred dollars a week less than unemployment, but at least it was something.

Two nights ago my wife called me at the office we share and said there was an emergency. It was not, thank God, a hemorrrage of our daughter's right cerebral AVM, but, thank God, a job opening here matching in an uncanny way my admittedly weird combination of education and experience. My hope when I started at the bank five years ago was that if it didn't work out, and it didn't, thanks in no small measure to a bunch of loony Arabs in two stolen airplanes, my hope, as I was saying, is that I might bring some technological expertise back to the industry I left a generation or two ago, namely, hgher education.

I might have a chance to do just that, and not a moment too soon.

I know a good number of you pray and meditate and things like that, and I would greatly appreciate your keeping me in mind, in the Light as Friends say, before the Mercy, as Charles Williams would put it.

Thanks, guys.

Frank

P.S. Nothing against Arabs; I am listening to Simon Shaheen on the CD drive.
