Forging Ahead

The TANG documents are forgeries, and fairly crude ones, at that. Why were they made? To discredit the President? To discredit Dan Rather, CBS News, and the so-called liberal media in general? Or to discredit the truth, so that when the same story comes out of better sources, it will not be believed?
