When I was in high school, my mother bought a female nubian goat as a pet, and named it "Chia." Chia was black with tan "trim," similar in coloration to a Doberman; and roughly the same size, at first. I remember hearing one guest remark on the "strange-looking dog." For the first couple of months that we had her, she cried plaintively, out of loneliness, at night. All night long. She sounded like a old woman being brutally tortured. I remember watching the police cars cruising slowly past our house. If any of your readers should decide to keep a goat for a pet, they should definitely consider getting two of them.
